OPENAP10 brought the global Neutral Air Partner community together at the Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech to celebrate the relationships, trust and specialist expertise that shaped NAP’s first decade.
More than an anniversary, Marrakech marked the beginning of NAP’s next chapter, bringing members, airline partners and strategic partners together to strengthen business relationships, exchange market intelligence and introduce the priorities that will guide the ecosystem’s second decade.
Marrakech set out the priorities and specialist initiatives.
Selected growth, stronger airline key-account relationships, and greater use of the network’s collective buying power, that will support Neutral Air Partner’s Next-Decade Strategy.
A specialist pharmaceutical and life sciences logistics community developed with Pharma.aero
A private community for business owners, founders and investors focused on capital strategy, partnerships and M&A.
A central hub offering Connected Digital Infrastructure and netting capabilities.
A development platform for the next generation of air cargo professionals.
Annual compliance and business verification across the NAP membership.
The premium networking event uniting the air cargo logistics and freight forwarding communities, returns to Liege in September 2027
The OPENAP10 CEO Exclusive Soirée set the tone for the week with an intimate, invitation-only gathering reserved for a select circle of high-tier sponsors and senior airline partners. Hosted in one of the Fairmont’s private villas, the evening brought together the first hugs, reunions, and conversations of Marrakech over a special BBQ and Moroccan tastes. Relaxed, elegant, and highly curated, it offered key decision-makers a rare private setting to reconnect before the full programme began, making the CEO Soirée one of the most exclusive and valuable networking moments of OPENAP10.

The New Member Orientation introduced new NAP members to the network, with Christos Spyrou and the team presenting the NAP ecosystem, its tools, values, and commercial opportunities. The session gave newcomers a clear first step into the community, helping them understand how to connect, collaborate, and create value through the Power of Many.
That evening, the OPENAP10 Welcome Cocktail. Over three hundred people from around the globe. The conversations that begin in that setting are the ones that carry through the week and, for many, through the years. By the time delegates arrived at the conference the next morning, Marrakech had already started doing its work.
The conference day featured 18 sessions covering market intelligence, technology and strategy, alongside three structured Power Talks and an interactive masterclass.
Ronald Veldman of Rotate opened with the numbers: 30 consecutive months of growth before March 2026, global demand up 7% year-to-date. Cloud computing now drives more than half of all demand growth — Taiwan cargo exports to the US up 400%. Gulf capacity recovering at 70–80%. Global yields up 30%.
Alina Fetisova of IATA opened with a Moroccan carpet: one misplaced thread breaks the pattern. The industry’s reality: 7,800 tons of paper processed annually, only 25% of volume declarations accurate, errors in one in three shipments causing 3–5 day delays.
IATA ONE Record — a free, open data standard endorsed by the IATA board is live in 30+ airline pilots. One shared data record per shipment, accessible to all parties in real time. The clean data foundation that AI actually needs to work.
Christos Spyrou took the stage with eight pillars for NAP’s next decade.
Pharma.Aero facilitates cross-industry collaboration, addressing the most pressing transportation challenges through actionable projects, global initiatives, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
4Viso, combines deep operational experience in GDP, audits and supply chain quality and compliance with strong IT and product development expertise.
As a launch offer for NAP members: reduced registration for the Pharma.Aero executive masterclass in Frankfurt and Belgium and a trial period on the 4Viso platform.
Frederic Brun of Liège Airport: four consecutive years of 13% annual cargo volume growth. Not only one of the top Cargo Airports in Europe, but a Cargo Airport Hub: Cargoland by LGG. NAP and Cargoland co- organize the ACE Air Cargo Event, announced for 14-16 September 2027.
Danny Arendse of QCargo: regulators now expect freight forwarders to act like intelligence agencies. QCargo delivers AI-powered partner verification in seconds, legal standing, certifications, ownership, sanctions screening, with a blockchain-watermarked certificate as output. Annual re-verification across all NAP members.
Scott Conley of Exfresso made the case for shared infrastructure: a digital pricing exchange that connects partner data in real time. If a partner changes their fuel surcharge today, you see it immediately. NAP members already live on the system, with NAPconnect.
Sarper Özperçin of Turkish Cargo opened with the number: as of mid-2026, Turkish Cargo holds the number one position in IATA market share statistics. 500+ aircraft, 1,400+ flights in the air simultaneously. For the NAP partnership: digital tools, specialised product lines, and capacity aligned to emerging markets.
A word from Rachid Tahri, MFFA
Rachid Tahri, President of MFFA, presented Morocco as a logistics and investment destination: 30%+ cargo growth 2022–2025, a leading automotive and aerospace manufacturing hub, and a developing network of logistics zones at the crossroads of Europe, Africa and the Atlantic.
Jalene Ward of Aero Africa opened the sponsor spotlight. Founded the same year as NAP, Aero Africa now spans 54 countries and 84 airports across the continent, a network built to handle the complexity of Africa so their partners do not have to.
Hamza Benzina presented the Morocco chapter: Aero Africa is now the first and only mutual freight wholesaler in the country, serving a market with 30%+ cargo growth, 450 active freight forwarders, and Morocco’s growing role as Africa’s top automotive manufacturing hub.
Jesus Espinosa introduced Across Logistics: specialists in the cargo most operators decline, dangerous goods, lithium batteries, aerospace and defence, oversized project cargo. Offices in China, Europe, the US and the Middle East. First time at OPENAP.
The presentation was followed by a company showreel.
Charles Sarkis of Motion Supply Chain came to the stage not to present a product. He came to say thank you. Ten years ago, Motion joined NAP with a dream and five employees. Today: 100 professionals across 10 locations.
A company film followed. Five employees to one hundred, ten locations, one decade. The room knew exactly what it was watching.
Gian Carlo Flores of WebCargo by Freightos: in 2020, only 9% of global cargo capacity was digitally bookable. Today: 80%. The platform is projecting 1.6 to 1.7 million e-bookings in 2026. The next frontier: connecting all individually digitised systems into one integrated flow.
Moderated by Sam Okpro. The panel’s verdict: the forwarder is not disappearing. Compliance complexity is not a threat — it is the reason forwarders exist.
Ana Maria Soroiu (Europrim): “the client of 2030 expects the shipment to arrive before he pushes the button. The right model is hybrid, technology and human expertise together.”
Glyn Hughes closed by stating: “over one billion people raised from poverty into the middle classes. Thirteen children dying every minute who do have healthcare, because of the people in that room. Air cargo professionals move emotions, not boxes. The industry deserves to stand a little taller because of it.”

Moderated by Chris Condon. The panel’s opening premise: AI is just math, and math is the universal language. AI is not coming. It is already in use.
Charles Maralle of Exfreight: an AI layer reviews 20,000 emails per day, makes outbound calls to truckers, and handled a 25% volume increase last month without adding a single member of staff.

Moderated by Professor Issa Baluch. Five panellists, one consensus: scale is not the same as strength. The company that influences how cargo moves is more valuable than the one that moves the most.
Bob van der Putten (MarBo): the industry will stay fragmented, 15 big players and 10,000 local heroes. Turgut Erkeskin (Genel Transport): new ideas always come from SMEs. For the big players, any business is just another business. For independents, every business matters.

Mandy Deakin-Snell of NeX Academy ran a two-hour interactive masterclass on cross-border e-commerce. Thirty years of experience, an international division built from scratch, and a clear message: most forwarders already have e-commerce goods in their network. The question is whether they know enough to serve it.

Over half our delegates spread in the alleys of the Medina, experiencing the magic of Moroccan colors and scents, artifacts and spices, followed by a delicious traditional meal.

Golf enthusiasts enjoyed the well-established OPENAP Golf Tournament, combining competition with camaraderie. 6 teams on the beautiful Fairmont course.

The morning began with the tranquil NAP Yoga Morning and offered a rejuvenating session that set the tone for the day.

The OPENAP Slam brought members together across four clay courts, combining friendly competition with the community spirit of OPENAP.
This year, the NAP Air Cargo Awards had it all: sports, airline, leadership, cargo sales, recognition and appreciation awards.
For OPENAP10 Marrakech, we also introduced the NAP 10-Year Excellence Awards, honoring past NAP award winners from the last decade through three peer-voted Grand Awards.
It was a proud and emotional Day 3 highlight, celebrating outstanding member performance, long-standing partnerships, and the industry leaders and mentors who helped shape NAP’s first ten years, together with our founder Christos Spyrou and the NAP team.
